Speed tests and results
SpeedArc runs measurements directly against Cloudflare. Cloudflare receives test requests and your IP address; see the Cloudflare privacy policy. SpeedArc disables the test engine’s optional result-logging endpoints. We do not operate a SpeedArc account or central test-results database.
Current tests and raw samples stay in browser memory and are not saved by the current interface. If you opted into history in an earlier version, those older results may remain in this browser’s local storage until you clear this site’s data in your browser settings. SpeedArc does not send test results to its own backend.
Methodology, privacy, and limits
How SpeedArc measures
SpeedArc method 2.0 uses @cloudflare/speedtest 1.14.1. Sequential transfers increase in size and may stop early when the engine has enough transfer duration. The headline bandwidth is the 90th percentile of eligible transfer rates, not a guaranteed maximum or a sustained multi-connection capacity test. Idle and loaded latency use resource timing with server-time correction; jitter is the mean absolute difference between consecutive latency samples. Largest-payload sample ranges are descriptive quartiles, not confidence intervals.
Evidence quality
“Usable evidence” requires a completed, visible, uninterrupted run, all core metrics, at least ten idle samples, at least three loaded samples per direction, and three largest-payload samples per direction with an interquartile spread no greater than 25% of their median. This is an evidence check, not an accuracy certification. The diagnostic suggestion flags an added delay above 40 ms only with at least three relevant loaded-latency samples; it cannot locate the cause.
Before-and-after comparisons
Before-and-after comparisons require the same method, engine, profile, and destination hostname, completed visible tests, and no more than 24 hours between tests. One pair cannot establish causation. Cloudflare’s physical edge and route may change between runs. Comparison arrows show arithmetic differences, not statistical significance.
Privacy and measurement limits
Test traffic goes directly to Cloudflare, which receives your IP address. The ISP label comes from Cloudflare’s network metadata and may identify the network owner rather than your retail ISP. SpeedArc disables the engine’s optional result-logging endpoints. Results, raw samples, method settings, and your notes stay in memory unless you opt into local storage or export. No account or SpeedArc results server is involved. Ad placements load Google AdSense, which may use cookies for advertising. Payload estimates exclude network overhead and retries. Activity fit
Activity fit is a SpeedArc estimate from this test, not a service test or a guarantee. Basic browsing reaches its top tier at 50 Mbps based on FCC web-loading observations. Streaming tiers follow YouTube playback guidance. Video-call bandwidth anchors draw on Zoom bandwidth guidance and Zoom call statistics guidance. Gaming latency estimates are informed by EA guidance. The 1–5 tiers and idle-latency and jitter caps are SpeedArc estimates, not service-specific quality standards. Server identity and edge location are not inputs to activity scores. Loaded latency is shown separately and does not lower an activity score on its own. This test measures a Cloudflare route, not a game or video-service server, and does not measure packet loss, Wi-Fi reliability, device performance, or sustained playback.
Advertising
SpeedArc uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google and other third-party advertising vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to SpeedArc and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies let Google and its partners personalize ads. You can control personalized ads in Google’s Ad Center and opt out of some other vendors’ personalized ads at aboutads.info. See Google’s advertising privacy information for more details.
Analytics
SpeedArc uses Google Analytics 4 to measure site visits and how people use the site. Google Analytics may collect page views, device and browser information, and cookies or similar identifiers. SpeedArc does not send speed test results, raw measurements, or notes as analytics events. See Google’s privacy policy for more information.
Site delivery
The site is hosted on AWS Amplify Hosting. As with other hosted websites, requests to load SpeedArc pass through its hosting and content delivery services.
